Marching Orders – “America’s Force of Decisive Action”

My Marching Orders have hit the street! While hard copies will slowly make their way into the field, I thought I’d share it with you here, as well.

There’s a lot packed into just a few pages. In the Marching Orders, I articulate my intent and priorities; outline our Army’s guiding principles, characteristics of the future force, and leader expectations; and share my thoughts on the role of the Army.

You’re kidding, right? After these cuts are implemented, we’d have a hard time defeating Costa Rica.

First thing I noticed was that a whole page of the six-page pdf is devoted to emphasizing TRUST. Second thing is that the front cover and the Header-Footer prominently uses the terminology “Decisive Action” which replaces Full Spectrum Operations (FSO). Third, among other things, it lists Composite Risk Management, which I would want to point out is exaplined in detail in FM 5-19.
