June 14th is a big day. Two holidays in one; Flag Day and the U.S. Army’s Birthday.
This year the Army is 236 years old, wow!
The first Army was formed in 1775, when the Continental Congress endorsed enlistment of riflemen to serve the United Colonies for one year. I think I am a little biases considering I am a Army Wife, but I am proud that the US Army is has the most members and is the oldest established branch of the U.S. military.
The Army dates back to the Revolutionary War to the current operations taking place around the world, our Soldiers have a deep vow to the Army’s core values and beliefs.
I look at my husband and when he puts his uniform on everyday to go to work he makes me so proud to be a Army Wife. When I go to Fort Bragg, and I see these soldiers training and working hard, from different MOS, they make a difference and flows up through the different army branches. I am so thankful to be part of this organization. We can’t forget the supporters of the Army, Army families and Army civilians who are excelling at helping support these defenders of freedom. Without their support the Army wouldn’t be as successful as they are today.
I want to thank all the soldiers, families and civilians past and present who have gone through the hardships of these wars and trainings. I am very lucky to live in this wonderful place called The United States of America and I am proud to call myself a Army Spouse!
