It’s hard to imagine that just a few years ago, terms like “social media,” “Web 2.0,” and “content sharing” were just beginning to penetrate the walls of the military. Now, social media is the standard.
We’ve come a long way. Social media is clearly here to stay. Just this week, the Department of Defense launched the new and improved Social Media Hub, a site designed to help units and organizations use social media while paying close attention to OPSEC and UCMJ. You can visit the site here, http://socialmedia.defense.gov/ to view social media documents and other important resources. You can also take a look at some examples of how all the branches of the military are using social media to tell their individual stories.
