It’s hard to imagine that just a few years ago, terms like ”social media,” “Web 2.0,” and “content sharing” were just beginning to penetrate the walls of the military. Now, social media is the standard.
We’ve come a long way. Social media is clearly here to stay. Just this week, the Department of Defense launched the new and improved Social Media Hub, a site designed to help units and organizations use social media while paying close attention to OPSEC and UCMJ. You can visit the site here, http://socialmedia.defense.gov/ to view social media documents and other important resources. You can also take a look at some examples of how all the branches of the military are using social media to tell their individual stories.
Is your organization interested in using social media? Check out this video and then head over to the new DoD Social Media Hub to get started.

It is really great to know that now DOD has launched social media hub, which is really very necessary for Department of Defense to know latest news or stories from diffrent different place, i think it is really a fantastic job by department of defence. I visited DOD social media hub site,it’s a beautiful site.
Hey, this is real progress, and it’s appreciated out here, thanks!

This is amazing. Embracing social media is only going to provide peace, comfort and happiness to both our service men and women and their families at times of uncertainty. God bless the USA.
I agree with the fact that the military should ease up on their social media “laws”. The soldiers SHOULD be able to express themselves throughout the internet, and social media sites.

I’m excited about the social breakthroughs in the military.
