In celebration of the Army’s 234th Birthday, Sgt. 1st Class Sean Bennett, Spc. Daniel Jens and Soldier of the Year Sgt. David Obray interviewed with Brian Egan on the Brian and Jenni morning show at WMZQ 98.7 FM, Monday, to talk about their unique Soldier stories. The three provided insight into the full spectrum of the Noncommissioned Officer – with Bennett, a senior NCO; Obray, a Soldier of the Year and newly promoted NCO; and Jens, a specialist approaching the promotion board in June. Sgt. Obray talked about the older brother who inspired him to join the Army. Bennett and Jens, who have competed on nationally televised
talent contest shows and co-wrote a song called “Life of a Soldier” from their own combat experience, performed the song live in the studio. The interview will air on the Army’s Birthday, Sunday, June 14. US Army Photo by LTC Nathan Banks.
