MG Bergner’s Welcome
Welcome to the blog of the Department of the Army’s Office of the Chief of Public Affairs.
This will be a place for anyone interested in learning more about the United States Army. We hope you’ll join us by making comments and joining the conversation – whether you’re a Soldier, Army civilian, contractor or interested citizen. The Army is a family, and it’s a community. We hope this community is one you’ll look to for sharing your feedback. It isn’t a place for media response, but a place for conversation. Occasionally you’ll find guest posts from our Army’s leadership, but for the most part you’ll be hearing from the Soldiers and civilians whose job it is to tell the stories of valor of our Soldier-heroes and communicate about everyday issues and events taking place in our Army.
Over the past several years we’ve seen the value of blogs. They are powerful tools of communication for our Soldiers, veterans, family members and others. Many great stories about our Army have been told through the blogosphere, and we’re excited to join that community.
As the Chief of Public Affairs, I’ve been proud of the progress we’ve made to better tell our story via the platforms that our Soldiers and young Americans today prefer, and look forward to continuing that progress over the weeks, months and years to come. This site will grow and evolve to better serve you. In “new” media fashion, we look forward to collaborating and participating. Please let us know what you think and let us know how we can improve.

Social Media has changed the way we communicate. Therefore, I am glad to see the U.S. Army is adapting the use of blogs. I am sure this site will prove to be an extremely useful tool in directly communicating the amazing efforts of our Soldiers and Army Civilians with the public.
Welcome to the Blogosphere and good luck! As the father of a son in USAROTC, thank you for this new effort to reach out on the Army’s behalf.
This is great! I’d like to the our entire military for the sacrifices they and their families makes to keep our country safe and our people free. You are all in my heart and my prayers all the time. Words can not truly express my gratitude!
Congratulations on the launch of Army Live. The posts published to date are varied and interesting. It’s inspiring to see the Army using the latest communication platforms to tell its story and engage in direct dialouge with the American people. Very nice, clean design too.
From the Australian Army – congratulations to MG Bergner and the US`Army for taking this important step. Rest assured, we are heading the same way and appplaud the ground breaking way that you are communicating with your soldiers. Very smart! Congrats to the guys working it behind the scenes.
Thanks for the positive feedback and encouragement. This is an important initiative for the Army and one where we really value your comments. We still have much to do to make this a useful forum and look forward to your help in that regard.
The Army has been active in social media for some time. Your participation and tolerance have not gone unnoticed. You have inspired other services and acted as role model for us as we forge into this new frontier.
Good luck! You have our support and partnership.
